12 Sep Back to school Cleaning
It’s that time again for back to school cleaning! During the Summer, house cleaning routines are filled with camping trips, beach days and family get togethers and the house cleaning can get behind. One of the reasons I love back to school is because it is a great opportunity to “start over” . With my son at school, it is much easier to get in his room and donate and toss without complaints.
I can’t stress enough how important removing clutter cuts back on the time spent on house cleaning. It also allows the space needed to deep clean corners and all the other hard to reach areas. Providing your child with with a cubie or hook for their back pack will provide the pile up at the front door and a designated spot for homework will keep any mess confined.
Hiring a house cleaning service to tackle the back-to-school cleaning after you purge will cut back on your time and sanity, but if that’s not an option for you taking it one room at a time is the best way to get through it.
If purging with your family is easier, get them involved. Assign chores and provide everyone a box for donations to fill. Start on one floor and make it a game and fill the trash bag. I prefer cleaning my home alone. It speeds things up and I can enjoy my finished project at the end before anyone comes home.
